Even now where the page fits better to the overall context, I still don't understand what's going on, or what Ephy means.

A wish spell was attempted, but due to its wording or the need of power to make it true, the wish went wrong and created the Wish Wave:
A blast of powerful performative and latent magic, tearing apart the barriers between worlds, particularly Sunnydale's world and the world of the players.
Therefore, wishes made (mostly without knowing it) in the world of the players have effects in the world of the characters.
A bit like when Sally say "Buffy does X" and then Buffy does X, but with great power and possibilities, not limited to her own character.
Clea isn't a player, but was near the game and so hers words were powerful and impacted the game universe.
About that, the wording "bridge between the worlds" isn't new...
Ephy said it too when she listed facts on the Cumaean Sibyl.
The hint Nick hid here wasn't only about the wish, but also about the crossing between worlds.

I think I understood what you explained on the surface of what is shown. But is this STILL a game - or does the Wish Wave affect the players, too?

This is still a game.
The wish wave is a fictional effect with no real impact on the players. Cordelia is blinded by the wish, but Mark sees just fine.

OK. Thank you, I needed to know that.
